Seasons 1-8 are when shippers place bids on two shipments on uShip in a reverse auction format. Bids are typically accompanied by comments about the likely risks and costs and also the motivations and capabilities. If the deadline is reached for an auction then the job is awarded to the bidder who has the lowest bid. At the discretion of the customer however, it may be awarded to a bidder who has a higher average feedback rating over previous customers. Feedback ratings are used to break any bonds for the lowest bid. Season 9 sees shippers receiving their cargo from a shipping company. Bidding isn't revealed. Shippers load their cargo and try to deliver the cargo in good condition by the deadline given by the receiver or client. Once the goods have been delivered, feedback ratings are shown from customers. Every shipper's earnings and costs (fuel as well as late-delivery penalties) are displayed on screen at the end. subtract from the bid to determine the overall gain or loss. Sometimes, a shipper may decide to transport additional loads in the same journey. This will be added to the total. In some instances the shipper may be unable to complete a job due to concerns over the weight of the load or the road safety. Sometimes, one shipper will hire the help of another shipper to complete the job. The shippers then determine which way to split profits. Seasons 1-8 are full of funny criticisms by the other shippers.
