Laura Vandervoort

The actress made her debut an actor in 1997, at age 13. In 1997, after taking numerous classes, and working as a background actor in Canadian programs like Road to Avonlea and Harriet the Spy, she got her first role as a speaker in the Canadian Children's Horror anthology Goosebumps and Are you afraid of the Dark?, both series were aired on YTV. Following commercials, she had guest starring roles as in Mutant X, Prom Queen: The Marc Hall Story, Goosebumps, Twice in a Lifetime, Doc, Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye, Troubled Waters, The Dresden Files, along with a handful of Disney Channel original movies (Mom's Afraid of a Date with a Vampire and Alley Cats Strike), at the age of 19, at York University, where she was studying Psychology and English. Vandervoort got a leading role in Sadie Harrison in the CTV Teen drama Instant Star that ran for four seasons. Vandervoort had her feature-film debut in 2006 on The Lookout. She starred alongside Jeff Daniels and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Matthew Goode was also on the show. Other television roles like CSI: Crime Scene Investigation brought Vandervoort to play Clark Kent's Kryptonian cousin "Kara Kent" (the person who is destined to become Supergirl) on The CW series Smallville. Smallville. Her appearances in season seven and eight of the show were as a regular in the series, "Bloodline". 3. In the tenth season and final episode of Smallville in the tenth season, she was able to reprise her role in two episodes. Following The CW, Vandervoort shot the sequel to Into the Blue titled Into the Blue 2 : The Reef.
