Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. Growing up and being raised in California USA she started her modelling professional career in Italy. Her first acting role was in the TV film Her Costly Affair. The actress struggled for a small role for her in Starship Troopers. It was difficult for her to make the transition between modeling and acting because models were not considered to be good actors and were mostly granted smaller, insignificant roles. Amy did not give up. She climbed the ladder to greater roles, starting in The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. In 2005, she was cast part in the leading role of The romantic comedic film Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. Amy gained recognition after more than ten years trying. She did some big films within the Crank trilogy with Jason Statham. And she had a part in a series of recurring roles on The Shameless series.
