Amy Smart, an American actress and former model. Born and brought up in California USA she started her modeling profession in Italy. Her Costly Affair, a 1996 TV film that she played her first part in, was her debut performance. It took a long time for her to star in Starship Troopers in a smaller part. Amy had a difficult time making the switch from modeling to acting, as model actors aren't generally considered good actors. They're often given small or unimportant roles. However, Amy was determined to keep going and began to take on bigger roles eventually starting with the TV series The 70s and the film Varsity Blues. In 2005, she took as the lead in The romantic comedic film Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. The film was a major commercial success, and Amy had finally found the success she'd been striving for for over 10 years. She then continued to appear in many of the greatest films including the Crank series starring Jason Statham as well as Shameless in which she played a recognizable character.
