April Ross, a beach volleyball player American She is one of a small group of women who have won medals in multiple Olympics. Alix Kallineman is set to compete alongside April Ross Tokyo to win her third gold in the next few days. Ross is determined to earn more than just her first Olympic medal. This may be the last time she has the chance as she is 39 years old. However, she's confident that top honors are firmly within reach. Ross had her birth on August 22nd, 1982 in Costa Mesa California. She resided there with her family. At Newport Harbor High School, she participated in various activities. Apart from the indoor game, she played basketball and ran track while an athlete in the pre-professional stage. As a finalist in her sport she stood out. According to her biography, she was a middle blocker and outside hitter on the court of volleyball during her senior year of high school. The effort was recognized with her being selected as 1999 Gatorade's Circle of Champions National Player of the Year. In 2000, she received an Orange County Athlete of the of the year for volleyball. Ross and Klineman have been performing their duties from 2017. However, Ross was an already a well-established athlete in the world of beach volleyball prior to this pairing. In fact, she's been an active player in the world of beach volleyball throughout the years. Actually, she took home several titles, and even one with an iconic volleyball legend. The pair was Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, in addition to serving as Kessy's Klineman and coach. Alongside Kessy Ross was an ace in the international scene, winning one of the biggest titles in the world in 2009. In 2012, the team were awarded silver medals at the London Olympic Games. Misty Maytreanor's famous team together with Kerri Jennings took home the gold. Ross Jennings was Walsh Jennings partner in fate when Maytreanor decided to retire. The duo went on to win the bronze medal in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Following high school, and for a few many years before hitting the sand professionally, Ross was a ball to the USC Trojans in her first season as an collegiate. Her experience at USC was awe-inspiring. In 2000 she was awarded Pac-10 Freshman as well as NCAA Freshman of the Year, and was also she was an All-American. She also helped her Trojans reach the Final Four. During her sophomore year she was devastated by a personal tragedy, yet managed to win an All-American. The two seasons she spent as a member of the Trojans she was instrumental in helping them achieve consecutive championships. She had established her place as a legend by winning the 2003-04 Honda Sports Award as the highest ranked female volleyball player. Ross was a major in international relations at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, did not have the chance to watch her daughter grow into famous in beach volleyball. Ross lost her mother due to breast cancer back in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She continues to cherish her parents who passed away. Margie remains an inspiration on the beach as well as throughout her entire life.
