Drake and Bad Bunny were part of a team on MIA (2018) and Madonna teamed up with Maluma on Medellin 2019, which was released in 2019. By 2020 a few reggaeton artists were expressing displeasure at their genre's shift towards the mainstream. However, a younger generation, led by Rauw Alejandro was determined to ensure that reggaeton was evolving. It was often associated with electronic dance as well as different forms.
