The parents of her are Harvey Welker who is Native American as well as Julie Welker who is African-American. Her mother is an agent in real estate while her father is an engineer. Walker was a student at her school at the Germantown Friends School of Philadelphia's Germantown, where she received an award in 1994. Then she attended Harvard College where she earned the Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998. Welker is married to John Hughes a well-known marketing director at Merck located in Philadelphia and they have two kids. The couple started to have an affair. John her husband is four years younger than her. The relationship was enjoying itself, so they decided to stay in touch. On the 4th of March, 2017, they tied the knot.
